On December 18, the Azerbaijan Tourism Board received the "Best Global Partner" and "Outstanding Partner of the Year" awards at the Global Partners Summit organized by Trip.com Group in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The event brought together over 2,000 tourism industry professionals from around the world, recognizing 60 leading global destinations for their exceptional contributions to the travel sector.

Established in 1999, Trip.com Group is China’s largest travel conglomerate, operating renowned travel service brands such as Trip.com, Ctrip, Qunar, and Skyscanner, providing global travel solutions to millions of customers.

In September 2024, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, and Trip.com Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance tourism cooperation. The agreement aims to promote Azerbaijan as an attractive travel destination for Chinese tourists by leveraging Trip.com’s digital platforms, including Ctrip, Qunar, and others.

Additionally, in an effort to expand awareness of Azerbaijan within China’s tourism industry, the Azerbaijan Tourism Board organized a series of promotional events in Shenzhen, Shanghai, Chengdu, and Beijing between September 18-24.

From January to November 2024, the number of Chinese visitors to Azerbaijan reached 42,374, marking a nearly twofold increase compared to the same period in 2023.
